24 Wind Power Projects Connected Grid for Power Generation
In 2010, Chenzhou City completed the first demonstration wind power project in Hunan Province - Yangtian Lake wind power plant. As of September this year, Chenzhou City has realized 24 grid connected power generation projects, with a grid connected scale of 1.135 million kilowatts, accounting for more than 35 percent of the total grid connected installed scale of the province.
Chenzhou City is located in the northern foot of Nanling Mountain range. Its unique topography endows Chenzhou with abundant wind energy resources. Chenzhou City's wind energy reserves account for about one quarter of the total reserves of Hunan Province, and the development of wind power industry has inherent advantages.
Fu Lirong, Deputy Director of Energy Bureau of Chenzhou Development and Reform Commission, said: "it has the advantages of clean, environmental protection and renewable, so the development of wind power generation can be said to optimize the energy utilization structure of our city, and it is also of great significance to protect the ecological environment."
Since 2010, wind power has gradually become the main force of new energy industry in our city, with rapid development and initial scale. Chenzhou City has signed more than 60 wind resource agreements. A total of 53 wind power projects have been included in the development and construction plan of Hunan wind power projects. The total installed capacity of the plan is 2674300 kilowatts. In terms of power generation, in 2018, the annual power generation was 1.942 billion kwh, and the annual average effective utilization hours were 1928 hours, with a maximum of 2372 hours.
"In the future, one of our directions for wind power development is to strictly enforce requirements. One is to give priority to ecology, to coordinate economic construction and ecological environment protection. The second is to respond to national policies. In the future, we will steadily promote affordable wind power projects and decentralized wind power projects." Fu Lirong said.
